やったね、北海道・駒大苫小牧高校、夏の甲子園優勝！！～初の白河越え、津軽海峡越え～

この感動をどう表現したらいいだろう・・・

南北海道代表、駒大苫小牧高校が優勝した。第86回全国高校野球選手権大会（2004年夏の甲子園）。

本当に、本当にうれしいのだ。思わず涙ぐんでしまうほどに。

白河越え・・・この言葉をみなさんは知っているだろうか？東北地方出身者ならたいていは知っているかもしれない。

夏の甲子園高校野球の深紅の優勝旗が、白河の関以北には未だかつて行ったことがなかったという事実を指す言葉だ。

白河の関とは、これより先は陸奥（東北）であるという有名な関所である。そう、今日までは夏の甲子園の優勝旗がこの白河の関を越えたことがなかったのだ（栃木県・作新学院が最北）。

この白河越えのことを知ったのは、僕が小学生の頃だった・・・新聞を読んで知ったのだが・・・それ以来、夏になると必ず東北・北海道勢を応援してきた。そう、20年以上にわたって。

そして、くしくも僕はその後、学生時代を宮城県・仙台で過ごすことになった。いや、くしくもというよりは、もしかしたら白河越えを応援し続けてきた想いが影響していたかもしれない。

白河越えへの悲願は、東北を第2の故郷としたことで自分の血となり肉となったのである。それからはますます、東北勢を応援してきた。特に宮城県勢は強かった・・・仙台育英高校、東北高校などなど・・・でも、今一歩届かない。

そして、これは本当にくしくもであったが、その後北海道は札幌に住んだりもしたのだ。札幌が第3の故郷になった。だから、東北・北海道勢を応援することは・・・もうこれは冗談じゃなく自分の悲願ともなってきていたのだ。

その証拠として、2003年8月23日の一語りでは、東北高校が惜しくも準優勝に終わったのを嘆いている。
2000～2003年の4年間にわたっては、夏の高校野球を甲子園まで応援しに行っているわけだが、うち3年間の2000年、2001年、2002年においては、東北勢の試合を必ず見ている。そのレポートはこちら（2000年分、2001年分、2002年分）。2000年と2001年は青森・光星学院をライブで応援しているし、2002年は宮城・仙台西高を応援している。このレポートにも白河越えへのこだわりをいろいろ書いているのでよろしければ見てほしい。

こういう感じに、僕は、冗談じゃなく白河越えを四半世紀近くも切望してきたのだ。

だからこそ・・今回は、白河越えどころか津軽海峡越えまで成し遂げてしまった、北海道・駒大苫小牧の偉業は、本当に涙が出たんだ。

よかった・・本当に良かった。東北も北海道も両方住んでみた実感から分かるが、どちらも寒い・・・冬は練習しかねる場面も多いのだ。雪が振っちゃうからね。

なかでも、北海道の方はより苦しいものを感じた。雪がすごいのだ・・・これじゃハンデとしてはきつすぎるなという思いは住んでみて実感できたのだ。
北海道に住んでみた・いる人なら分かると思う、あの雪のすごさを、そして、雪が吹雪になった時の顔に刺さる雪の痛さを。

今は神奈川に住む身でありながらも、夏の甲子園では北海道・東北勢を必ず応援してきた。

そんな北海道から夏の甲子園優勝校が出た。真紅の優勝旗が津軽海峡を越えた。

これは本当にうれしい。おめでとう、駒大苫小牧高校！！

真紅の優勝旗を持って帰るのは、本当に辛苦の積み重ねだったことに違いないことは分かっているよ。おめでとう！！

なんかね。
高校野球って長いこと地区予選で終わっていたんですよ。
どうせ、北海道勢は勝ち上がれない、初戦突破できれば上出来だって勝手に決め込んで。
失礼な話ですよね。応援しなきゃならないのがそんななんて。
そんな中飛び込んできた駒大苫小牧の優勝。
すっごくうれしいです。
見方改めなきゃなぁって。
どんなときでもあきらめちゃいけないんだって（＾Ｏ＾）

北海道に住んでいながら、野球自体に興味がなかった為、
｢白河の関越え｣などという言葉を今回、始めて目にし、
何の事かとネットで検索して、こちらに辿り着きました。

決勝戦はTVでリアルタイムで観戦していましたが
駒澤大学付属苫小牧高校の優勝が決まった時、
拍手しながら、地団駄踏みながら、泣きながら、｢嘘だ！｣を連発していました。笑
この偉業は、北海道の高校野球史上、永遠に語り継がれるでしょうね。
現在、何十年も前に日本がオリンピックで金メダルを獲った白黒のVTRがTVで紹介されるように
何十年後かに、古くなった今日の偉業VTRがTVで流されるのでしょうね。

某掲示板で、｢駒大苫小牧ナインには、道民は誰もいないんじゃないの？｣などと
チャチャを入れる人間がいましたが、監督以外、みんなれっきとした道産子ですよね！
遠征費用稼ぐ為に、年賀状の配達アルバイト等しながら費用を稼いだ、
汗水たらした努力も知らずに、周りでゴチャゴチャ言うなと言いたいです。

｢努力しても報われない時も、人もいる｣と思ってきた人間ですが
それは間違いかもしれない、と思い始めています。
本当に、心の底から、おめでとう、ありがとう、と言いたい。

うん、この偉業は後世に残るんでしょうね。
あ、そうなんですか・・・ナインは全員道産子なんですか・・・いや、私もそのへんが気になっていろいろ調べてみているのですが、なかなか確証がなく・・・でも、端々に散見する情報だと・・ええ、北海道の選手が多い・・・そんな感じも受けています。

新聞記事など・・・もしネットで見られる情報があったら、ここにお書き頂ければうれしいです。

うん、なんか、駒大のこの試合・・・とても励まされる試合でしたよね。
うん、私もそう思います。不器用でもいいまっすぐ生きていけばいいこともある・・・そう思えました。

そして続く　準々決勝ＶＳ横浜の時　正直唖然（化け物打線）したのが関東他全国の正直な気持ちでしょう。

小中学校は駒大苫小牧には無いそうで、学力レベルでは、駒大苫小牧はそんなに高くないので、公立高校受験の滑り止めに受ける人が多いようだとのことです。
または、スポーツでは、スピードスケートなどは本場なので、スポーツ推薦の人はいるようです（橋本聖子さんの母校だとか）。また、アイスホッケーの名門チームだとのことで、そっちの世界でも名門のようですね。

だから、高校からでも受けられそうですね♪

北海道出身者としてはたまらない喜びですよね♪
私は北海道出身ではないのですが、一時期でも北海道に住んでいた身として十分共感できます。
北海道って寒いし、不況のあおりはすごいし、歴史的に見ても、しいたげられてきた面は否めませんし、その意味で、今回の優勝は、本当にうれしいはず。

北海道ゆかりの人たちのみならず、全ての疲れている人たちに励ましになったはずですよね♪

僕の場合はベンチ入りの１年生が小・中とお世話になった先輩でした。去年より今年のほうが思いいれが強くなり必死にテレビを見てました。今回の偉業も凄いですが、努力もそうとうなものだと思います。ホントに北海道の人達の励みになりました。今度は僕がこんな風になれたらな、と思います。
